Addressing the 32nd International Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran (IRAN) on Saturday, Rouhani said “Submitting to the West headed by America would be treason against our religion … and against the future generations of this region.”
The three-day international Islamic Conference advocated by President Hassan Rouhani seeks to promote unity and cooperation in the Islamic World and understanding among scholars in order to achieve proximity among their scientific and cultural beliefs.
Since US president Donald Trump took over the leadership from Barrack Obama, he has demonstrated a hard stance towards Iran’s nuclear deal. The white house earlier this year reimposed sanctions on Tehran, after incumbent Donald Trump withdrew from a 2015 international nuclear deal with the republic of Iran.
